The Shee Venath Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild presents one of the most clever brain-teasers in the Dueling Peaks region. Known as part of the Twin Memories trial, this shrine cannot be solved by simply examining the room itself. Instead, players must look across the mountain divide to discover the key to unlocking its secret gate.
Understanding the Twin Memories Concept
When you step inside Shee Venath, a small stone tablet gives a subtle hint regarding the solution. The puzzle features a five-by-five grid of indented sockets on the floor with five glowing blue spheres placed inside. The default positions of these orbs represent the solution to the neighboring Shee Vaneer Shrine located on the opposite peak.
To solve Shee Venath, you must arrange its spheres to mirror the starting layout of Shee Vaneer. Taking a quick in-game photo or screenshot of each floor layout before moving any spheres will save you a lot of backtracking.
Exact Orb Placement for Shee Venath
If you want to bypass the trip across the valley, you can arrange the spheres according to the original layout from the sister shrine. Stand near the entrance platform looking toward the locked gate to orient your grid correctly. Place one orb per column in the specific row sockets required to trigger the altar door.
From left to right across the five columns, place the first orb in the fifth row, the second orb in the first row, the third orb in the second row, the fourth orb in the fourth row, and the fifth orb in the second row. Once all five spheres settle into these positions, the sealed doorway will instantly open.
Finding the Hidden Treasure Chest
Before heading straight to the monk to claim your Spirit Orb, make sure to explore the upper level. Ride the moving elevator platform up to the top viewing deck where you can look down at the grid floor.
Gliding around the wall near the top ledge reveals a hidden alcove holding a treasure chest. Inside, players will find a Serpentine Spear, providing a nice combat reward for thorough exploration.
Completing the Shrine and Claiming Rewards
After collecting the hidden weapon, drop back down to the main floor and head through the unsealed gateway. Climb the short ladder leading to the altar platform where the shrine monk awaits.
Interacting with the monk completes the trial and grants Link a valuable Spirit Orb. You can then fast travel back up to the Dueling Peaks summits if you still need to complete the opposite shrine for its matching reward.
